Caretaker’s House, Scaffold Struck
Getting close to practical completion on the Caretaker’s House. Greenheart (main contractor) have been fantastic. This is a collaboration between us and AA Inter 2 (Martin Self’s and Charles Walker’s old unit) – Constructed entirely from timber grown, felled and milled on site and insulated to Passivhaus standards. Staggeringly beautiful old barn. The space inside is just sublime – check out the horizontal shaft of light coming in… The beam to column connection… and the brickwork on the inside wall in the bottom picture – maybe my favourite brick i’ve ever seen…
